Distinguished French Maestro Emmanuel Villaume leads AYS in a “sea” of French and American music. The orchestra will perform Debussy’s La mer, which has become one of his most admired works, as well as Ravel’s Minuet antique and Henri Lazarof’s Poema. Critically acclaimed concert pianist Andrew von Oeyon joins the orchestra for Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G and Gershwin’s sensational Second Rhapsody for Piano and Orchestra.

Zubin Mehta Joins
AYS Advisory Council


We are thrilled to announce that Maestro Zubin Mehta has joined the newly established AYS Advisory Council.

Maestro Mehta, current Music Director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and former Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is the son of AYS Founding Music Director Mehli Mehta, and has long been a champion of this organization.

We are proud and honored that he has joined the Advisory Council, taking a formal role in helping to guide and shape the future of the American Youth Symphony.

AYS Musicians Around Town

On Thursday, November 19th, at 7pm, AYS Violinists Natalie Yu and Chandler Yu will perform at a special event hosted by KMozart* at Wolfgang Puck's Chinois on Main in Santa Monica.

The evening will feature an exquisite menu paired with wines from Cobblestone Vineyards, served in the intimate private dining room.
