Announcement: NEA Grant towards
Video Game Concert in 2016/17

 

We can now share the exciting news that AYS has been funded by the NEA to present a cutting-edge, live-to-picture, video game concert next season, which will pair game scores with inspirational classical works, and feature a Q&A session with the composers. This free concert will bring classical music enthusiasts and gamers together to share a unique and thrilling experience. Details to come!


 

Audition Application Live on June 1st!

The American Youth Symphony is dedicated to the artistic development of a new generation of musicians. Members of AYS receive tuition-free training and a per-concert stipend, have wonderful opportunities to enhance their musical growth, experiment, study new works, engage with their community, and develop leadership skills. Throughout the season, our musicians perform classical masterworks, legendary scores, and cutting-edge world premieres, all in the most prestigious concert halls in Los Angeles.

There is no fee to audition!

The following positions are open, however, we welcome players from all sections at our annual auditions:
 

Asst. Concertmaster  /  1st and 2nd Violin Section  /  Viola Section  /  
Cello Section  /  Asst. Principal Bass  /  Bass Section  /  
2nd Oboe  /  Horn 4  /  Piano


Audition dates will fall between late August and mid September.
