2015/16 Season Announcement!

We are excited to share with you some highlights of our upcoming season! Look for further concert details in the mail this summer.

Our season opens with an AYS first—a complete score LIVE to picture.  Join us for a blockbuster work by an Oscar-winning composer (we can't reveal who until next month, but it's going to be great!), as conductor David Newman leads orchestra and audience on a cinematic journey!

LACMA’s Bing Theater
AYS returns to LACMA’s Sunday’s Live with a chamber concert featuring AYS principal string players.

November brings Maestro Emmanuel Villaume and celebrated pianist Andrew von Oeyen for a program featuring Henri Lazarof, Ravel and Gershwin, as well as La Mer, Debussy’s enchanting tribute to the sea.

2016 kicks off with a concert led by violinist Robert McDuffie, who will play and conduct Philip Glass’s Violin Concerto No. 2 - The American Four Seasons, a modern companion to Vivaldi’s Baroque classic, written for McDuffie himself.  Also on the program is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a musical adaptation of the classic Arabian folk tale.

Meet our Los Angeles County Arts Commission Summer Interns!

This Summer we are joined by two Los Angeles Natives: Hannah Fried, a Viola Performance and Arts Administration major from Northwestern University, and Avery Brust, an Economics major from Duke University. 

Special thanks to the LACAC for providing this terrific program, we are so happy to have these talented students on our team!

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:

AYS accepts musicians who are 15 years of age and not older than 27 as of September 30, 2015. Auditions will be held behind a screen, as we accept applicants based solely on their musical ability.

APPLICATION AND SCHEDULING:

To apply for an audition, please complete and submit the online application. Applicants will be notified by email of their audition time and location once the application has been reviewed. Auditions for each instrument group are held on a single day.
