Election Roundup

In odd-year elections, ballots are often filled with school and special district issues. That was the case this year, however only 23 percent of registered voters turned out to cast their vote. Election results are set for certification today, but election night results are available now.
Voting by mail

Voting by mail is easy, convenient and safe. The Office of Elections sends your ballot to you a few weeks before an election, and you vote the ballot and send it back to the Office of Elections so that it arrives by Election Day.

Mapping Measure Z road work

Humboldt County's roads are used by law enforcement, fire protection, and other emergency services to respond to calls for emergencies. Those response times are hampered by poor road conditions. The County's average Pavement Condition Index (PCI), which is a measurement of road conditions from 0 to 100, was 58 in 2011. The Public Works Department is taking steps to improving our roads and our public safety.
