Living With Wildfire

Wildfires are a fact of life in Humboldt County. Thanks to the hard work of groups like the Humboldt County Fire Safe Council (FSC), residents can reduce the risk of losses from wildfires. The FSC creates and implements plans that help accomplish the following: help firefighters develop reliable revenue sources for fire protection; create fire-safe communities; reduce hazardous fuels throughout the county; and maintain air quality. Need funds to prepare your home for wildfire?

The Fire Adapted Landscapes & Safe Homes (FLASH) program can reimburse you for reducing fire fuel around the home. You can receive up to $3,000.
