All proceeds from the Driftless Farm to Table Dinner support local foods programming at Iowa State University Extension & Outreach in Dubuque County, as well as our partners at Four Mounds & Dubuque Rescue Mission throughout the year.

A beautiful four-course, family style meal served overlooking the Mississippi River with local chefs, local music by Nate Jenkins, local beer by Jubeck New World Brewing and local wine by Park Farm Winery - this event is not to be missed!

Double Up Food Bucks: Status Update

Double Up Food Bucks is a healthy food incentives program that matches every SNAP dollar spent at farmers' market with an additional dollar (up to $10/ week) for fresh fruits & vegetables.

Dubuque is one of 6 markets across the state participating in the 2016 Iowa DUFB Pilot Program with
coordination & support from Iowa Healthiest State Initiative.

July
In it's first month  - vendors at Dubuque Farmers' Market were visited by over 100 new market goers who spent a total of $1,602 SNAP dollars and $1,234 Double Up Food Bucks on healthy local food.

August

With the threat of rain on three market days, $1,340 SNAP dollars, and $840 Double Up Food Bucks were spent at Market during the month of July. Of the 96 Double Up transactions, 20% were made by new users, and 80% by returning users.

Big View Night at Circles Initiative

Earlier this month ISU Extension & Outreach was invited to join Dubuque Main Street at Circles Initiative. We began the night with a Ratatouille dinner using fresh produce from local farmers & gardeners, and talked with Circles participants about Food Access & the  Double Up Food Bucks Program.

Circles members generated ideas for promoting the DUFB program - setting up market tours, hanging flyers at new locations, and spreading the word on social media.
