Walking Fish Cooperative & Community Supported Fishery
Local Seafood, Healthy Communities

Hurricane Matthew is becoming less of a threat to us here on the coast. We are hopeful the storm turns and goes out to sea.

This week we are bringing King Mackerel to Durham members in the EVERY group. These fish were caught using hook and line in the Atlantic Ocean. Uncooked King Mackerel is a grayish color but turns to an off white color when cooked. It is excellent grilled or broiled.

Delivery Details - Thursday, October 6th

King Mackerel caught in the Atlantic Ocean

Pick up Information:
Sarah P. Duke Gardens parking lot
4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

A few years ago, one of our members sent us an email with the following message: "We got the mackerel and it was delicious.  I put it under the broiler with a knob of pesto (I make pesto in ice cube trays from the garden and freeze them).  It was wonderful!"

We are seeing lots of clouds and wind this week (unrelated to the hurricane).
