Sankalpa means affirmation in Sanskrit.
Begin 2014 by sending us your intention, affirmation, or resolution to be included in an art installation here in south India!
When a deeper intention is integrated in art, it has the power to manifest and change reality. We invite our global network of creative friends to send us their wishes and dreams to be woven into the fence surrounding the plot of our future art center.
You can submit your affirmation in reply to this newsletter or by email, which we will transfer onto recycled cloth. All pieces will be woven into and attached to our natural disintegrating fence which needs reinforcement. Your resolutions will support each other as well as ours to finally create an art center here in south India!
Here is some helpful information for phrasing a Sankalpa through its use in yoga therapy and yoga,
so "[it] becomes a statement you can call upon to remind you of your true nature."
• Write in the present tense: e.g. "I am at peace with myself."
• As a therapist, teacher or provider, take this opportunity to connect to your personal resolution.
• As in all creativity, there is no right or wrong! Trust your expression and the value of it, as an important part of our collective art installation.
We continue to include intention in many of our art therapy and creative empowerment programs here, including affirmation dolls, sacred wish pouches and seed bombs. Your tax-deductible donations to fund art supplies for our ongoing programs are always appreciated! Please keep an eye open for an upcoming fundraising campaign for our art center and heartfelt gratitude for your support!
Sending love, light and color for a new beginning,
