National Volunteer Week 16-22 June 2013
It is nearly that time of year again!!! National Volunteer Week is almost upon us! running from the 16-22 June 2013, and we are looking at what we will be doing during that week!
Speed Dating for Organisations!!!
IPC and the VRC are proud to bring you another opportunity to become involved in Organisational Speed Dating.
This will be held at IPC on Thursday 20th June from 10-12. Seats are limited (to ensure you will get to talk to everyone!) and IPC invite you to tour the facilities after the event.
Morning Tea will be provided along with some prompt cards, and an folder to take away all the information you will be given (so remember to bring yours to share!)
Trust Power Awards!!!
The Trust Power Community Awards open on the 4th June (close the 31st July) and we are hoping to bring you a joint event to help promote this great community acknowledgement! Last year we were so proud to see so many of our members acknowledged in the awards, this year we want to see more of you up there!! It only takes 2 minutes MAX to submit a nomination and you can nominate your own organisation! We will bring you more about this in the next few weeks!
In conjunction with Trustpower we will be hosting a BBQ in The Square from approx 12noon - 2pm on Friday 21st June, to encourage people to nominate organisations for the awards! Watch this space, as you may be able to help out at this!
National Volunteer Week March!!!
We will be holding a March from the Square to Community House (usual route) on Friday 21st June at 2pm. Please spread the word! We would love to have a HUGE turn out this year! And of course there will be a cup of Tea and Cake to celebrate our 3rd Birthday once we arrive at Community House!
Broadway Windows Displays!!!
We are in the process of trying to secure windows along Broadway in which we can create "sectoral" displays again this year - our intention is to include Arts, Social, Sports and Environmental windows again!
If you are keen to be involved in any of these events RSVP here: email@example.com
AND tell us if you have an event or activity planned that we can add to the What's On for the week!

|FMG Community Amplifier
FMG has a proud history of supporting the communities we grew up in, and nowhere is this truer than in the Manawatu. We’ve been in the neighbourhood for over 100 years and have always been keen to lend a hand, from the bright lights of FMG Stadium, to your local school pet day.
The FMG Community Amplifier is our way of helping local schools, charities, groups and not-for-profits in the Manawatu area find their voice. If you want free air-time to promote your event, activity or cause, click here for the chance to win radio advertising through MediaWorks on us!

Media Opportunities abound!!!
Palmerston North Community Services Council and us the, Volunteer Resource Centre have come together to create an exciting media opportunity for all our members in association with The Guardian newspaper!
We have a number of student writers, photographers and even editors to put together these fabulous articles! We have given our writers the opportunity to select who they would like to interview, and will begin our schedule based on this. However, if you have an event or activity which we can help promote through these article please get in contact and we will do our best to add you to the schedule at an appropriate time.
Our agreement is to publish on a fortnightly basis, and we have the opportunity to publish logos and photos along with the articles where possible.
We at Volunteer Resource Centre also have our weekly radio show on Access Manawatu and we welcome you to join us on the show! Please make contact if you would like to be involved in either the Radio show or The Guardian articles.
We have slots for Radio regularly available, and Newspaper slots available from June!
