Upcoming Volunteer Coordinators Forum

When: 10-12noon
Tuesday 24th September 2013
Where: Double Room
Community House
77 King Street, Palmerston North

FREE - Open to members & non members

If you have every wondered exactly how things actually work in our office, through our database and for you and our volunteers then here is your chance!

We welcome you to join us for a closer look at our referral process and a walk-through of the database including a step by step look at how you can use the database from your place to load and amend your roles.

We encourage you to come along to look behind the scenes, as well as to meet some of your fellow volunteer coordinators.

We also encourage you to provide feedback on the process we will be showing you, as nothing is FIXED in concrete, and we are always looking for ways to improve the process, your experience and the effectiveness of the potential matches we are sending you.

We will also be asking you for your input into how we can more effectively collect information from you on the outcomes of the potential matches so that we can better assess the service we are providing.

We have booked 2 hours for this session, and expect that there will be plenty of time for discussions, and of course the all-important networking and social aspect of these forums!

Refreshments will be provided, please RSVP by Friday 20th September 2013.

NZ Council of Social Services, Community Research, Volunteering NZ and Social Development
Partners invite you to join us and other local community organisations to discuss the current
environment, and the considerable impact it is having on community organisations.

We will discuss our national perspectives on key issues for the community sector, and how to best
link with your local experiences on issues such as:
•     Government priorities and social policy targets are impacting on our services and funding.
•     Increased focus on regulation and structure is creating greater compliance demands,  and need
for professional expertise.
•     Challenges of evidence-based and outcome-related approaches on planning and reporting systems.
•     Increased focus on local community resilience and sustainability is changing the environment in which we are operating.

We can also point you to a number of useful resources and tools that are available to inform and
assist you in your work.

This meeting will  discuss :
• How we are experiencing these, and
• What more can we be doing collectively to respond?

The Palmerston North Community Services Council is hosting us on Wednesday 18 September in the Double Room, Hancock Community House, 77-85 King Street, Palmerston North, at 2:30PM.
The session will finish by 4:00PM, followed by afternoon tea.

RSVP to ed@socialdevelopment.org.nz by Friday 13 September.

Please pass this invitation on to other organisations that may be interested!
