Volunteer Coordinators Forum March 2013
Our 2nd Forum for the year will be held on Wednesday 27th March 10-12noon at Community House. Morning Tea provided.
After the feedback from the last forum this month’s we will focus on systems you use in house. We wish you to think about how you use technology (or not) to support your volunteers, whether that is a database for recording info, mail programs for keeping in touch, Office systems for developing tools, policies, etc. Cloud systems, or simple spread sheets. Online systems for translations, help or support and training. Facebook, websites etc for sharing your activities… Do you use a message book? feedback sheets...
Think about how you keep in touch with your volunteers (especially if you do not see them often), how you reach out to them, or make contact with new people about your services or needs. How you keep in touch with your clients and how you spread good news stories. Please bring along names of propgrams, or web-links to online systems so that we may share these.
Let’s share our ideas and skills and see if there are new ways to do things that have not been considered. This will be a process of compiling lists of systems and discussing pros and cons, along with looking at where additional training might spring from.
Our overview of last month’s forum will be out shortly, and this includes the training already being considered.
Please RSVP by the 25th March so we can ensure we have a large enough room and Morning Tea!
These forums are open to anyone who is involved in supporting/managing volunteers (not just members), and there is no charge. These will be held on a regular basis and are an opportunity for you to come along and meet other Volunteer Managers and Coordinators from the region, and to hear about what is happening in the sector, region, and the country in relation to volunteer management.
If you have any ideas for forum topics, please feel free to contact us
