Hello Culture Lab family,

In our exploration of what makes us uniquely Indian, we’ve made numerous deep dives into digital cultures and the transmedia world. However, over the last couple of months we thought it would be great to be a part of a transmedia experiment ourselves.

LinkedIn-MTV Get A Job is an Apprentice-styled reality show that marries the best companies with the most eligible interns. It started its search for contestants online, was shot in the real world, was aired on TV and in the digital realm, and now we have an amazing real, human intern! To find out who he is, and get a glimpse of our beautiful campus, watch the episode here.

In case you are wondering about what our past events on the digital world have been, here are three you need to watch! Dr Henry Jenkins spoke about transmedia storytelling and fan culture; Jinal Shah spoke about the immigrant experience in the digital age and at the Wandering Women feminist film festival we hosted a discussion on how viral videos are affecting feminism.

If you missed them, don’t fret. Our next event takes a closer look at the digital age we live in too.

Prof. David Craig of the University of Southern California and Prof. Stuart Cunningham of Queensland University of Technology are researching the changing future of entertainment with the advent of YouTube and other digital platforms. They call it Communitainment – derived from the genesis of new content that is driven by a community of diehard fans and subscribers. RSVP for it now.

As part of this newsletter, we also have quotes from Dr Sanjay Oak. An incredible speaker, Dr Oak spoke about the state of public medicine in the city. Read it here. In contrast, we have the video of a talk delivered by our favourite mild-mannered nature writer, Stephen Alter at the Lab. Watch it here.

Finally, don’t shut this tab without watching the incredible Dharavi Rocks! performance. We hosted them at our Godrej campus for the annual Godrej Leadership Forum. The talented kids drummed their way into our hearts and we're sure they will into yours. We also have pictures from this forum as a teaser for the videos we will be releasing over the next few weeks. Barkha Dutt, Uday Kotak, Bharti Kher, Dr Vikas Amte – have we whet your appetite a little?
