Dear Above The Stag supporter,
We are pleased to announce that after much searching, we have finally found a new permanent home. We are in the final stages of securing a lease on a railway arch in Vauxhall which we will convert into a brand new theatre and bar. (See how you can help, below!)
We plan to open in the Autumn with an exciting season of plays, musicals and of course our annual riotous adult pantomime, of which more below. Tickets for panto will go on sale soon.
In the meantime, we are spending summer at the Landor Theatre co-producing a campy comic musical, Nunsense A-Men, by Dan Goggin, featuring ATS regulars Tim McArthur (pictured), Josh Rochford (our fabulous Widow Twankey from Get Aladdin) and Paul Brangan (Cleveland Street, Blink Again).
HOW YOU CAN HELP US SECURE OUR NEW HOME
Before we can open we must obtain planning permission from Lambeth Council to change the use of the arch from its current zoning (light industrial) to theatre (“sui generisâ€). Our planning application is online now, and we seek your kind help in the form of comments of support.
Posting a comment only takes two minutes, via the Lambeth Planning Department website. The more support we get; and the more demand we can demonstrate for a theatre with a programme of gay-focused plays, musicals and pantomimes; the more favourably Lambeth will view us. NB. Some supporters have advised us that the website states comment are no longer being accepted. This is not the case; you are still able to comment!
