Seven Things You Should Know about Non-Profit Journalism

David Sassoon, whose InsideClimate News won a 2013 Pulitzer Prize, has seven things he wants you to know about non-profit journalism. Five of them explain why the non-profit tonic works; two explain what’s needed to make more of it. "We don’t have to chase traffic or manufacture clickbait," he writes. His advice: A new angel should "launch 50 nonprofits, give each $5 million of seed money, and turn ’em loose."

So if journalists want a chance at succeeding in this battle, they must not only find good stories, but also elevate their story-telling to an art. But, how? Check out these inspiring examples in a post by María Teresa Ronderos, director of the OSF Program on Independent Journalism.
