A Global Assault on Nonprofits

Work with a journalism nonprofit? There's a growing global assault on NGOs you should know about. Since 2012, more than 120 laws have been proposed or enacted in 60 countries, a third of them restricting foreign funding. Propaganda vs. Independent Media

Washington is seeing a fight between those who believe in independent media development vs. "counter-messaging." The top player on the propaganda side: The Pentagon. Latin America's Top Muckraking

COLPIN, the seventh Latin American Investigative Journalism Conference, ended last week, bringing together 150 journalists from some 15 countries in Lima, Peru. This year's Investigative Journalism Prize, awarded at the conference, went to "The White House of Enrique Peña Nieto" (Mexico). Check out the full list of winners here.
