GIJN Welcomes 12 New Members

A big welcome to 12 nonprofits in 11 countries that joined GIJN this week. GIJN's Board of Directors approved a diverse group that includes Átlátszó Erdély (Romania), Bhutan Media Centre (Bhutan), Centre for Media and Development Initiatives (Vietnam), Convoca (Peru), DIG (Italy), Finance Uncovered (UK), Forum for Media and Literature (India), IHECS Academy (Belgium), INK Centre For Investigative Journalism (Botswana), International Centre for Investigative Reporting (Nigeria), JARING (Indonesia), and Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (Nigeria). This brings GIJN membership to 128 groups in 57 countries.

GIJN heads to Kathmandu! Join us for the 2nd Asian Investigative Journalism Conference in Nepal, Sept 23-25. GIJN co-hosts with Nepal's Centre for Investigative Journalism and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. We'll have an all-star line-up of top investigative journalists from across Asia and around the world, with state-of-the-art data training.

Confiscati Bene is a pioneering Italian data journalism collaboration that digs into the $4 billion of goods in the EU confiscated from criminals by authorities. In this post, Andrea Nelson Mauro, founder of GIJN member, tells us about organizing this complex, collaborative project and explains the various tools the team used.
