Building Bridges to China

GIJN is now available in Chinese! As part of its Asia initiative, GIJN now runs a Chinese-language website,, and is on China's social media platforms Sina Weibo and WeChat. Our team is bringing tips and tools to Chinese journalists while showcasing Chinese investigative reports to the rest of the world. We're off to a promising start: During the Uncovering Asia conference in November, a Weibo topic created by our staff (#首届亚洲深度报道大会#) reached an audience of more than 1.14 million.

The Research Desk: Data & Docs

The Research Desk with Gary Price is back with its second installment, featuring a roundup of new tools. Among them: the WHO's MiNDbank database, with more than 4,000 documents from 170+ countries on health, human rights, and development; the European Public Sector Information Platform's Twitter stream, packed with the latest open data resources in the EU and worldwide; and NATO's online digital archive of "declassified and publicly disclosed" documents (with 23,000 new items added). As Gary says, less talk, more on!
