November/December 2017 - New Website! Map of Hibaria Complete!
View this email in your browser
Hello, friends! I've got a few exciting things to show you! Let's start with a new painting: It's called The Summoning and it took the better part of a year to complete. A year! On a painting! It took so long because it had three major revisions and it just wasn't coming together.
  1. Originally the ship was a sea serpent and the boy was much larger. It looked terrible. Trust me.
  2. Then the sea serpent became a ship with a sand dollar insignia on its sail and the boy shrank to his current size. Better, but still appalling.
  3. Finally it became this: a dragon ship that breathes its own sail, which also happens to be a map...

Map of Hibaria Complete...

Speaking of maps, here's the finished map of Hibaria! It took a while, but it was worth all the effort. As I shaped this land and gave its features names, story ideas bubbled to life. And not just new story ideas - old ideas now have context and new life.
If you want to see the map in more detail you should go to my...

New Website!

It's just been launched and I think it looks great. I'm not tooting my own horn (which one shouldn't do, I hear) because I didn't do it - my good friend David Downing did. (You can visit him here.)

I'm excited about the website, not just because it's new, but because it's designed to bring all my creative work together in an interactive way. You can explore my world and see where the paintings take place. You can read the snippets of story that accompany each painting. And you can discover tantalizing details about the different regions of Hibaria.

The site will continue to grow as, over time, I add more images and history and lore and stories.

The store is new as well, and I'm happy to tell you that it's far more functional and user-friendly than my last one. So check it out! Click the button below and explore!

Note: as with any new website, there may be occasional errors or broken links. David and I have done our best to find them all, but if you stumble upon one, can you let me know? I'd really appreciate it!
