March 2021 - New stories from Hibaria?
Greetings, friends! I've gotta tell you, it's been a busy few months since we last spoke, and by "spoke" I mean I wrote words that you may or may not have read. What have I been up to? Let me tell you.

Beyond Tales of Hibaria: The Awakening...

First, Tales of Hibaria: The Awakening has been selling well. Since the Kickstarter, I've sold quite a few through my store as well as through The Rabbit Room. They've been kind enough not only to stock it, but to promote it as well, and I couldn't be more grateful.

As folks have read the book, several have reached out wondering if they'll see these characters again. "ARE THERE MORE STORIES?" they ask, but usually not in all caps, as that would be rude. So I made a short video letting people know the answer to that question.
World of Hibaria Update
Hate watching videos? Me too. Here's a summary: I've been writing a followup novel to the stories, and when it's done I have plans for several more. ToH:TA was just the beginning, an introduction if you will, to the characters and storylines that I've been thinking about for some time. (I mean, in the prologue I talked about a war that happens after all these stories. You better believe I'm going to write about that war.)

I've also got some Hibaria projects in the works that aren't novels. What does that mean? I can't say yet, but I can go out on a limb and promise that some of you might possibly be interested in them.

Because I've been focusing on writing lately, I haven't painted much. And by "haven't painted much" I mean I've painted exactly one 5"x7" in 2021. It's called The Lights.

As I was photographing it for the newsletter, I thought it would be fun to show you how different the painting can look depending on how it is captured.
The Lights, captured using a scanner. Not bad.
The Lights, captured using a camera but without polarizing film over the lights. Kind of awful.
The Lights, captured using a camera with polarizing film over the lights. Just right.
What do you think? Is your favorite version my favorite version?

These guys really (usually, kind of) get along. Max just celebrated his 4th birthday!
Until next time!
