It's that time of year again when we rank public institutions based on their compliance with the Freedom of Information Act of 2011. The annual event, which is usually held on September 28th (World Right to Know Day), honours the most responsive MDA for its proactiveness in disseminating information.

This year is bigger and better because MDAs across the country will be ranked using the following parameters; Proactive disclosure, Timeliness of response to requests, Level of disclosure, FOI training, FOI desk officers and FOI annual report.

This year's ranking will be held on the 28th of September 2022 at the Shehu Musa Yar'adua Centre, Abuja. Let the countdown begin!

Recall our maiden edition of the Freedom of Information subnational ranking that was held last year in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state? This year, we're expanding to Adamawa and Ekiti state.

The top ranked organizations were the Bureau of Public Procurement with 28 points and the Akwa Ibom Healthcare Development Agency and Budget Office came in second place with 4 points each.
