Dear friends,

It has been a month of dialogue with stakeholders and change makers. From policy change deliberations to situation reports on climate change and digital literacy. We are glad that our presence was felt through all of these events. 

Here is a look at some of the activities we engaged in this past month.

The Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) through its Digital Inclusion and Safer Internet (DISI) program hosted the maiden edition of the webrangers Nigeria Summit themed: ‘Raising Online Safety Super Heroes’,  in Abuja with a total of 11 schools in attendance.

Web Rangers is an initiative of Google was created to develop digital literacy programmes, that allow young people to gain critical skills and knowledge around online safety, which they use to create innovative campaigns that promote safe internet usage and digital rights across the globe. 

We Were at the OGP Summit in Morocco

For the first time in many years, reformers from Africa and the Middle East met in person to advance the open government agenda at the Open Government Partnership summit in Morocco.

Our CEO Jubril Shittu attended the summit and spoke on a panel titled "Transforming Social Movements into Actionable Plans," noting that civil society organizations play an important role in shaping and overseeing public services.

Lending Our Voice at the Climate Change Media Summit

Nigeria has experienced severe flooding in recent months, displacing and affecting thousands of people. Understanding climate change is critical, and as stakeholders, it is our responsibility to raise awareness, particularly in rural areas. As a result, a Climate Change Media Summit was organized by the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID).
