We are down to the last week before the Longhorn Expo kicks off. And boy is it a busy week for us all. Graduations, end of schools, floods and your last minute preparations. But we can't wait to see everyone at the show. (Don't forget your health papers, feed buckets, water hoses, show halters, sticks, you know the works!)
This year, the shavings office will be open once again and you can purchase shavings for $6.50/bag. Please no outside shavings as the price also includes the clean up fee, etc.
We will have coastal hay for sale at the show office for $7/bale. If you would like to reserve yours, you can contact Amy at the 817-625-6241 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, as we reach the final planning stages of the Longhorn Expo, please remember to purchase your banquet ticket in advance - the tickets are going fast and we have limited numbers available.
If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to volunteer for any items, please let me know.
Safe travels and we will see you soon!
TLBAA Sales & Event Coordinator
P.S. Don't forget to be a silent auction item.

TLBT in need of Heifer Donors Throughout the year you might have heard the word "POINTS" around the show circuit it's now time for those POINTS to be awarded into the TLBT Hall of Fame. HOF awards those outstanding TLBT members who have went above and beyond exhibiting and promoting the Longhorn breed. Now is your time to give back. The TLBT member who is standing in the first place position in each age category receives a calf.
However, this year - WE NEED YOUR HELP! We understand the surplus of bulls and a shortage of heifers - however, we are in need of (1) more donated heifers. The perfect age range would be Jan. - March 2016.
1 More Heifers Needed
for the TLBT Hall of Fame Points.
TLBT Youth exhibitor obtaining the most points in each division,
wins a heifer.

Senior Heifer Sale
Currently there are five seniors who have consigned their show project to the Senior Heifer Sale. This year the World Show Committee has added the ability to Add-On to a seniors project.
(I.E. you really would like to support the student however can not afford to purchase the heifer - you have the ability to "add-on" to the student's purchase price by making a check payable to the TLBAA with student name and Sr. Heifer Sale on the memo line.)
Mail checks to: TLBAA PO Box 4430 Fort Worth, TX 76164
Showing cattle can be tough, hard and so fun. But do you have what it takes to be on the other side, the Judge? Participate in our 3 class judging contest. You will get the opportunity to evaluate heifers, bulls and steers. The livestock judging contest will be in Cattle Barn 2 at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Designed to recognize skills outside of the show ring, participants compete in record keeping and speech giving. Each age category winner receives a belt buckle. For more information, click on the TLBT tab at www.TLBAA.org
Test your knowledge and see how you rank among your peers. Here's a hint, we have been publishing some of the questions on the TLBT Page in the TRAILS Magazine.
Kudos to all Miniature Exhibitors - we will be seeing a record breaking number of miniatures at the 2016 Longhorn Expo. There are 29 Miniature entries. 2016 Longhorn Expo Miniature classes: Non-Haltered: Heifer, Cow, Steer and Haltered: Heifer, Cow, Steer and Bull
Just 30 minutes after the conclusion of the show on Saturday we will meet in the Coliseum foyer and recognize our Hall of Fame exhibitors.

Currently we have a carved longhorn skull and a Wyoming hunting trip for the live auction. Silent Auction items to date include jewelry and homemade goods. Auction items can be brought at check-in.
Before the Trophy Steer Show we take the opportunity to celebrate breeders who have moved on to greener pastures. This is an extremely touching and moving ceremony.
