Have you considered pursuing earning your PGA Specialization in Golf Operations? Prefer to work in groups? The Metropolitan, New Jersey, and Philly Sections are offering a 2-Day, Virtual Seminar conducted by Todd Sammons, Director of PGA Education. The cost is $350 for the PGA Education Library, but there is no additional fee for the Seminar.

Crowell Bowl V
It's that time of year again! The Crowell Bowl V is here! Brian Crowell is running a Super Bowl pool in support of the Met PGA Foundation. His pool is open to Section members, friends, family & the general public. This is a 50/50 pool, which means 50% of the money collected will go straight to the Met PGA Foundation.

Squares will be assigned at random. Participants are welcome to purchase more than 1 square!

How to Purchase Squares: 

To purchase squares, Venmo $100 (per square) to Brian Crowell @bcrowellpro 
Please title the payment "Crowell Bowl 5" and include your name and contact information.

Squares will be available from now until 2/12/23, or until board is filled. At 5pm on 2/12/23, Brian will go LIVE on Facebook to randomly draw scoring numbers for AFC and NFC. On game day (Feb. 12) be sure to tune in to Brian's Facebook Live winner announcement at the conclusion of each quarter and watch the action unfold!

Met PGA Compensation Survey
We have restructured our Met PGA Compensation Survey to a digital platform for ease of use, updating some of the terminology in the process. As you will see, we are also gathering data about golf operations budget and total rounds to create some comparables regarding service levels.

PGA Members earn 1 PDR for completing the survey and an additional 1 PDR for opting into the PGA of America survey.
The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club is hosting the Legacy Pro-Am on Tuesday, January 24th. The individual stroke play event is open to male and female professionals. In Florida for the winter and interested in participating? Click the button below for full event information.

Staff Development & Mentoring
Tuesday, January 10th

Tim Garvin, PGA and Ray Ford, PGA will discuss the various methods for developing the staff's abilities and mentoring their Professionals so that they can ultimately become Head Professionals.

The meeting will be held in person for a limited number of people and zoom for those who are unable to attend. Instructions on how to join the meeting will be sent to registrants prior to the meeting. Attendees will receive 2 PGA PDR Credits.

Caleb Wilson Appointed Head Professional at Nissequogue

Caleb Wilson, PGA has been appointed the new Head Professional at Nisseqogue Golf Club. Caleb has an outstanding pedigree, beginning with four years working at Pebble Beach, three years at Fresh Meadow CC, and has spent the last four years as First Assistant at Meadow Brook Club under well renowned Head Professional, Matt Dobyns. His passion for the game, exceptional teaching skills, and his keen eye for hospitality services make Caleb a fantastic fit at Nissequogue. We wish Caleb the best of luck as he transitions into his new role!

PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship 
The PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship application for the 2023-2024 school year is now available. You can access the application by clicking this link. 

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Students must have at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA, be a child or grandchild of a PGA Member in good standing, and who hasn’t exceeded the limit of two scholarships during undergraduate studies. Scholarships are not available for graduate students.
