Meet the Teacher Checklist

  • Meet your child’s teacher & our new administrators
  • Join the PTA & meet the Executive Board members
  • Sign up for aftercare & extracurricular activities in the gym
  • Prep for carpool - don't forget to grab your sign from your teacher
  • Pick up backpacks for grades 6 - 8
  • Have dinner to support our school

FOOD TRUCKS: Butcher’s Son, Pizza de Paolo, and Mr. Sugar Rush will be onsite for purchase and a % of sales comes back to Dealey

(vegan & vegetarian options will be available)

Bring your blankets & lawn chairs to enjoy your picnic dinner!

PreK and Kinder will have two Meet the Teacher information sessions at 4:45pm and again at 5:30 in the cafeteria. The PreK and kinder teachers request that you wait to bring school supplies until the first week of school.

Grades 1-8 will meet their teachers in their classrooms and can bring their school supplies.

Dealey PTA Membership
Last Summer Playdate 
Saturday, August 13 from 9 am to 11 am
Join us for the last Summer Playdate on the PreK/K playground. It's a casual morning where the kiddos can run around and you can chat with and get to know other Dealey parents.
 
PTA Shed Clean Out
Saturday, August 13 from 8 am to 4 pm
We need 20 - 24 volunteers to help clean out the shed near the chicken coop. Hand and power tools are requested (i.e. power drills, screwdrivers, hammers). There will be some shelf assembly. Other tasks include pulling items out of the shed, sorting items and sorting trash, labeling bins, and keeping inventory. All are welcome! Sign up to volunteer in two-hour shifts.

The shed is located by the chicken coop in the 1-3 garden.

Morning Schedule:
7:45 am - Students can enter the building
8:15 am - Students may go to their classrooms
8:30 am - Warning bell (after this time exterior doors lock and all students must enter through the main entrance on Royal LN)
8:35 am - Tardy bell
Staggered Dismissal:
3:30 pm - PreK/K
3:40 pm - Lower Elementary (grades 1-3)
3:45 pm - Upper Elementary (grades 4-6)
3:50 pm - Middle School (grades 7-8)

Parents, please drop off your students in the carpool lane or park and cross Edgemere safely with the crossing guard. DO NOT STOP ON ROYAL LANE to drop off your child.

Use the following tools to stay connected with Student Transportation Services.  

> BUS BULLETIN A notification system that immediately informs parents of any bus delays through text messages, voice mails, and / or emails. 

> E - LINK Provides parents with their student(s) transportation information including: stop time, stop location, and route number.

> MYSTOP MOBILE APP Allows parents to view student's live bus location within a ten-minute window of projected bus arrival time.  

> LET'S TALK Allows our community to directly send us questions, comments, and feedback regarding Student Transportation Services.

Elementary Orchestra
Elementary students (grades 1-6) who are interested in signing up for Orchestra this school year should fill out the Orchestra Sign-up Form. Please fill this out if your student plans on participating. More Volunteer Opportunities
Being a Room Parent is a small time commitment that makes a huge impact!

Room Parents serve an important role for our teachers and their classrooms. Our teachers and staff greatly appreciate any time you can contribute to our school. Here are the main Room Parent responsibilities:
  • Be a liaison between the PTA and our class parents
  • Assist in coordinating holiday parties, field trips, etc.
  • Assist the teacher with special projects
  • Do something special for the teacher's birthday
Please consider becoming a Room Parent and helping our amazing teachers!

Volunteer to be a Secret Pal at Dealey
Do you want to get involved at Dealey, but don't have a lot of time?
We have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you - become a Secret Pal! 

The Secret Pal program is a fun and easy way to connect with the Dealey community, and a great way to put a smile on someone's face! A Secret Pal chooses a staff member to send an anonymous, small gift each month based on their list of "favorite things". It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful! This is one small way our staff can be reminded of how much we appreciate all the great work they do. Secret Pals stay anonymous until the reveal party in May when you finally get to reveal your identity!

For more information please email Lindsey Haley at secretpals@dealeypta.org to arrange your Secret Pal staff member assignment. Our goal is to have a Secret Pal for every teacher and staff member who wants to participate. Spots go fast so sign up soon!
