The Digital Transformation of the Music Industry with Spotify's Head of Innovation
Spotify accounts for 36% of the global music streaming market and, along with iTunes and Amazon, is heralded as responsible for transforming the music industry. The platform has nearly 300 million monthly listeners and is expected to continue growing at a rate of 20% per year. Spotify is credited with saving the music industry from rampant piracy by ensuring that artists are compensated, music lovers can access all their favorite sounds at the touch of a button, and new artists have an opportunity to be heard without record contracts or radio play.

AlmaLinks is honored to host a Global AlmaSession with Máuhan M. Zonoozy, Spotify’s first Head of Innovation and Market Intelligence.

Mr. Zonoozy joined Spotify in 2021 after a long career at BCG Digital Ventures, a corporate investment and incubation firm, where he helped companies think about and adapt to the future. He is now applying those same skills at Spotify—in his words, he is charged with helping Spotify identify their own “moonshot” ideas. Máuhan will share his insights as someone who sits at the intersection of society, culture, and technology, and will discuss the main challenges and opportunities in the music industry today and in the future.
  • Date: Thursday, November 18
  • Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EST; 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM IST
  • RSVP: The Zoom link will be provided upon RSVP.

Máuhan earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his B.S.B.A. (cum laude) from Georgetown University, and is an Ignite graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a member of both the New York and Massachusetts State Bars. Máuhan calls NYC home, is an aspiring MoMa curator, and is happiest when on a chairlift.
