William A. Mitchell Financial Assistance Program Application
The William A. Mitchell Metropolitan PGA Financial Assistance Program was formed in honor of this wonderful 30-year member of the PGA. The financial assistance is made available to support golf professionals early in their careers with the expenses of PGA schooling. William A. Mitchell was a staunch advocate of the PGA, for he was PGA educated, PGA trained and he achieved the promise of the PGA.

Met PGA One Day Event with Partner's Program Activity
Join us on May 24th for a One Day Stroke Play event at Brae Burn! This event will be similar to our 2020 Back2Golf event. Sponsors will be set up in the parking lot as well as a food truck for lunch. This is a 18 hole stroke play event and all Met PGA members and associates are eligible to register. Player of the year points will be distributed to each respective division. Please come and show your support for our Partners and Sponsors on the 24th!

Senior Junior Date Change
This season, the Met PGA Senior Junior Championship will be held much earlier in the schedule than it had traditionally been. Timber Point, a 27-hole facility on Long Island, will be hosting us on Thursday, May 13th. Each team will compete on all 27 holes, 9 holes for each format (Better ball of 2, Scramble, Pinehurst).
Registration is now open, and the deadline is Wednesday, May 5th.

2021 Tournament Dues Now Open
The Met PGA is excited to announce that Tournament Dues for the 2021 Season are now open. Event registration will also open this week for the following events:
- Long Island/Westchester Pro Assistant
- Long Island/Westchester PGA
- Senior Junior
- Met PGA Pro President.

Rod Loesch Announces Retirment at the End of Season

|
After 37 years as the Director of Golf at The Connecticut Golf Club in Easton, Connecticut, Rodney Loesch, PGA will retire at the end of the 2021 golf season. Rod has been involved in all aspects of the club including supervision of staff, and organizing tournament activity and golf instructional programs. Rod is a consummate golf professional. He is recognized as an outstanding teacher, a skillful player, and has had leadership roles in both the Metropolitan and National PGA, all while contributing his time to local youth golf programs.

Flightscope X2 Elite for sale. $5,000
Martin Granda personally purchased this unit in 2016 for $12k. It's been very well taken care of and runs great. It has been used 3 times so far this spring for fittings and lessons and it started right away after sitting in the office all winter. He is trying to replace this one unit with sth smaller like 2 Flightscope Mevo plus, with less data points. Flightscope is offering a $6,500 credit for the X2 elite if you upgrade to their new X3, the new X3 costs $15,000 and he does not want to spend the $8,500k for another unit with too many data points for his students and his limited flight driving range.
