Introducing Tournament Director Cameron MacGregor

We were sorry to see our Tournament Director Steve Guasco move on, but happy for the wonderful things that lie ahead for him. We dedicated significant time and energy to identifying our next Tournament Director, and are pleased to welcome Cameron MacGregor, PGA member who spent 10 years as the Tournament Director of the Northern California PGA Section. MacGregor, a native Michigander, spent most of his career as a club/teaching professional in California prior to going to work for the Section and will come to our operation prepared to make immediate contributions. Brae Burn Country Club will host our Annual Met PGA Spring Meeting on Monday, April 10th to kick off the start of the golf season!
In addition to conducting association business including plans and goals for the upcoming season, the Spring Meeting is an opportunity for members of the Metropolitan Section to interact with representatives from our Partner and Sponsor companies, whose support fuels our activities and operations. At the conclusion of the membership meeting, the Partner companies will be introduced, and those representatives will enjoy a luncheon among Section members prior to our opening golf event where partner engagement will continue on the golf course.

The Annual Met PGA Educational Summit is celebrating its 60th year on April 25th at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point. The event, formerly known as the Educational Forum, is the culminating event of our Winter Education Series that includes morning and afternoon presentations from renowned professionals, educators, and teachers in the business. We are thrilled to have launch monitor and golf simulator giant, Foresight Sports, as our presenting sponsor. Foresight will be on site at Trump Ferry Point showcasing their performance data technology to our Professionals, teaching them ways to take their game and their members games to the next level. The day will conclude with a cocktail hour and giveaways presented by Cobra Puma Golf.

PGA HOPE Professional Training Sessions

Judy Alvarez, PGA will provide free training to PGA Members, Assistants, and Associates to better equip them to teach people with all disabilities at their clubs and at our PGA HOPE programs.
The training is on Thursday, April 27th at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point from 8:30AM - 3:00PM. PGA Professionals attending will be eligible to participate as an instructor for PGA HOPE, and receive an honorarium in return for their time. 6 PDR credits will be given for attending.
The training is open to Professionals looking to receive training for the first time, as well as others who have previously gone through the program who are looking to refine their skills. We hope many will join us and become certified to teach at our PGA HOPE programs. Head Professionals please encourage your assistants to attend this amazing opportunity to expand their teaching knowledge to better serve your members and get engaged in our growth of the game initiatives!

The New Jersey PGA is hosting a Teaching & Coaching Summit their annual Teaching & Coaching Summit at Tee 2 Green Indoor Golf in West Long Branch, NJ on Tuesday, March 28th. This is a great opportunity to hear from top teaching and coaching professionals in the industry on various topics.
