This Veterans Day will be the 4th Annual PGA National Day of HOPE that celebrates our nation’s heroes; and aims to raise awareness and support for PGA HOPE.

This year has been a most difficult year for our veterans as all programming has been cancelled and the only chances that our veterans have had to interact with one another has been through virtual platforms.

We are looking for clubs to host a “Day of HOPE” between October 12th – November 12th for 4-8 veterans to come play on a day and time you specify. If the veterans would need to be hosted by member(s) that is welcomed as well. The best ambassadors for our program are our veterans themselves and they would love to come spend the day at your club as this year has been a most difficult year as all PGA HOPE programming has been cancelled.

Clubs that host a “Day of HOPE” will be featured on our social media channels and a thank you letter will be sent from the veterans to your members for you to share with them to raise awareness and support of our program.

We appreciate any support you may be able to offer.

The John Farley Cup helps celebrate the service and dedication of John Farley, our long-time Tournament Director who died suddenly in 2008. The event features the top 12 players from Long Island competing against the top 12 players from Westchester (to include Fairfield and Upstate counties as well). The top 10 players with the most points on the Met PGA Player of the Year list in each jurisdiction and the top 2 seniors with the most points on the Met PGA Senior Player of the Year list in each jurisdiction after the conclusion of the Long Island and Westchester Open Championships will earn a spot on their respective teams.

ACH Deposits Now Mandatory
For many reasons, the Metropolitan Section is working toward being 100% paperless when paying PGA Professionals. We are asking all members to please complete the ACH authorization form so that all disbursements (including tournament purses) can be directly deposited to a bank account. This will increase the timeliness of payment, eliminate the occurrence of lost checks, and save you time and energy in depositing checks to your bank. We have had members previously note that it was difficult to track expected payments, especially those that we combined, but automated email notifications will now include an itemized description for all payments. Also for your convenience, the form can now be submitted online eliminating the requirement of an attached voided check. Anyone who expects to be paid by the section should please complete the form here :  https://p.ga/ach
