NEW Hurricane Ian update

Hurricane Ian: Florida pummelled by one of the most powerful storms in US history | US News | Sky News
As of Thursday morning, September 29, Hurricane Ian slammed into the west coast of Florida and crossed the state on its way north, possibly into South Carolina.  Damage is still  being assessed and will likely be a time-consuming process.
Our member and friend Robin Emory, who lives in Florida, has reported that her family sheltered in Lakeland FL and came through the storm safely.  Others of us also have family members living in Florida - we'll keep them in our prayers.  If you have specific prayer requests for your family members and friends - even thanksgiving for God's protecting hand - send us an email at ctilutheranlodi@gmail.com and we'll add them to the prayer website HERE>>

2022 is the 80th Anniversary of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  To celebrate, the LWML is suggesting that churches adopt a mission / caring project using the number "80."

At Christ the King, we think we should be able to collect (at least) 80 household care items that are especially needed by clients of the Lodi Family Center.  (Examples:  dish soap, toilet bowl cleaner, general purpose cleaner, bars of soap, and toilet paper.)  Please bring your gifts for this project to Christ the King any Sunday this summer, and put them in the bin on the bench near the coat room.  Thanks!

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is a Recognized Service Organization of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  You can learn more about the LWML

Meal Train - Meal Calendar for New Parents, Surgery, Illness, and More

Christ the King Lutheran Church has set up another Meal Train page for Bob and Sally Gogolin.  They're both at home while Sally continues to undergo ongoing treatments for leukemia this summer, and they've said they can use help with meals.  These meals are truly appreciated.

Thanks for all your help!

To volunteer one or more meals to help out the Gogolins, go to the Meal Train site for them HERE>>
Christ the King Lutheran Church is a member of the SELC District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  Our District has a weekly online newsletter called The Beacon - you can view or download the latest edition HERE>> to read about  activities in other congregations of our District, and articles of interest from some of our pastors, including daily and post-convention updates from our District Convention.
