Free Patriotic Concert at ND Heritage Center & State Museum Amphitheater

BISMARCK—The public is invited to attend a free patriotic concert, "National Parks: Our National Treasures," performed by the West River Winds and assisted by a community chorus on Friday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. This concert, in partnership with the State Historical Society of North Dakota, will take place at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum’s outdoor Prairie Amphitheater near the east entrance in Bismarck. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as no seating is provided.

The "National Parks: Our National Treasures" concert will be directed by John Darling of the West River Winds with assistance from Abelardo Flores, as well as Bismarck-Mandan Civic Chorus director Tom Porter. Musical selections will pay tribute to the National Park Service with special guests Daniel Schelske, park manager of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, and Steve Stark, history presenter from Fargo, who will sketch an illustrated history of Theodore Roosevelt and his influence on natural history throughout the United States.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will take place indoors at the North Dakota Heritage Center with limited seating.

The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about this concert and other upcoming activities, visit history.nd.gov/events or call 701.328.2666.
