Public Invited to Attend Governor’s History Conference
BISMARCK – The public is invited to attend the “Think Green in ’15: Innovative City and Prairie Sustainability” conference on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center. This annual Governor’s History Conference is hosted by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and is partly sponsored by The Bismarck Tribune and United Printing of Bismarck.
Regional leaders will share innovative approaches moving North Dakota toward a more sustainable future. Topics will include tips for maintaining healthy soil, organic seed trends and national research by a North Dakota company, Fargo’s success with new Bike Share and transit programs, the future of energy in our region, how “green” materials are incorporated into the building of the ND Heritage Center, and how old sustainability practices are part of the new green movement.
Speakers include Jay Fuhrer, Natural Resources Conservation Service; Theresa Podoll, 2014 MOSES Organic Farmer of the Year; Mike Williams, Fargo city commissioner; Steve Tomac, senior legislative representative with Basin Electric; and Director Claudia Berg and Curator of Education Erik Holland of the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
