Upcoming Events in the Neighborhood!

Families With Children in Russian Hill - Thank you so much for coming out to some of our recent RHN Events for Families With Children. We love getting to know other families in the neighborhood and figuring out ways to make Russian Hill an even more wonderful place to raise our kids! Please note that this month is the start of our Russian Hill Neighbors Annual Membership Drive. The all-volunteer board of our non-profit organization works year-round to help make Russian Hill a better place to live. Funds we generate from the Annual Membership Drive directly support our events and initiatives, like some of the ones described in this email. Please renew your tax-deducible membership or consider joining today if you have not already via our Membership page. Thank you!

Here are a few upcoming events that might be of interest to you: 

Saturday October 29 3-5pm: Polk Street Halloween Parade
Please joint Russian Hill Neighbors and the merchants of Polk Street for a fun Halloween event this Saturday! Kids, parents, and pets are meeting in front of FLIPP (1400 Green Street @ Polk) at about 3pm and then walking both sides of Polk to pick up treats at a bunch of merchants. Everyone will convene in front of Glammic (1488 Vallejo @ Polk) for games, more treats, and fun pumpkin decorating. If you cannot make it right at 3pm, participating merchants will have colorful balloons outside of their store so just head to Polk when you can, start trick-or-treating, and then meet the group at Glammic. Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30 from 11:00am - 4:00pm: Creative Family Fun - Dia de Los Muertos Masks at the Presidio Officers Club
Drop in for imaginative craft-making based on the Presidio’s natural and cultural heritage. Featuring different crafts every weekend! Come get creative during Dia de Los Muertos mask-making and learn all about the Presidio’s connection to Mexico.  Sponsored by the Presidio Trust. Registration not required, but preferred. Register here!
 
Sunday October 30 from 3:00pm - 5:30pm: Halloween @ Joe DiMaggio
Friends of Joe DiMaggio Playground invite you to an afternoon of Halloween fun. Bubbles! Haunted House! Fortune Teller! Balloon Fairy, and more! Festivities begin at 3 pm; Trick-or-Treating will be from 5pm to 5:30pm.

Monday October 31 from 5:30-8pm: Trick-or-Treating on Leavenworth!!
Where: Leavenworth between Lombard and Filbert
When: Halloween (Monday, October 31st) 5:30 to 8:00
Who: You and Your Little Monsters
How: Look for Orange Trick-or-Treat Signs, or Treat Stations along the route. Please tell your friends & neighbors the details!
Details: For those not on the route, feel free to set up treat tables (table, chairs, whatever & hand out candy) along the route, or just trick-or-treat.  Please encourage your friends or neighbors on this stretch to participate.  Or better yet, encourage non-residents or yourselves to set up a table or seats to hand out goodies!  This is a great chance to get out and meet your neighbors, or simply catch a bunch of cuties marching by!
 
Friday, November 4 from 5:30 - 08:30pm Presidio Free Family Movie Night!
Come watch Zootopia at the Presidio Community YMCA. There will be food trucks, popcorn, and IT'S-IT ice cream starting at 5:30 pm; movie shorts at 6:30 pm; and the feature film Zootopia starting at 7:00 pm.
