Since September 1st, Geraldine Grimes-Lewis has functioned as the current Executive Director of the Economic Development Council of South Miami-Dade [EDC], a position formerly held by Peter A. England who now holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer.
As Executive Director, Ms. Lewis will continue to implement the initiatives and goals identified by the EDC Board. The EDC Chair, Lisa Greer says, “Geri brings leadership, energy, and passion to the EDC that will take this organization to new heights.”
With the addition of Geri as Executive Director, Peter England assumes the role of Chief Strategy Officer for the EDC. Peter’s long standing passion for economic development and his continued leadership with the EDC remains constant, as with his expertise and direction, we can continue to collaborate and strengthen the relationships we have with our local leadership.
On top of her roles as Executive Director for the EDC, Geri Grimes-Lewis has owned and managed her own company since 2019, Grimes Consulting, specializing in Compliance, Diversity & Inclusion. Before that she worked at a national construction company as Diversity & Inclusion Manager. She is a self-described “military brat”, an avid community advocate, spokesperson, volunteer, and business woman.
Peter England is a 30+ year resident of the Village of Palmetto Bay. The EDC would like to express the most sincere gratitude to Geri and Peter for their continued contribution to the EDC. With their help, the South Miami-Dade community can continue to grow and develop.
