Please give a warm welcome to two Fellows who are with the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law (CERL) for the fall semester. CERL is grateful for their outstanding contributions to its work. 

CERL Visiting Fellow Laurence (Laurie) Neill Nathan is a Professor and the Director for the Centre for Mediation in Africa at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Laurie also has been a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University in the UK. He has served as an international mediator in many conflicts in Africa, Eastern Europe, and elsewhere; has authored several books on mediation; and is an expert in security service reform. He holds a Ph.D in Historical Studies from the University of Cape Town and a M.Phil from the School of Peace Studies at Bradford University in the UK. His office is in the Perry World House.
CERL Journalist-in-Residence Marc Ambinder, under a joint appointment with the Annenberg School for Communication, is a seasoned journalist who has served as White House Correspondent for the National Journal, Politics Editor with The Atlantic, and Chief Political Consultant with CBS News. He also has published two books on national security subjects and a third is due next year. He will teach a course on national security journalism at the University of Southern California (USC) in the spring and edit the Oxford University Press volume that arises out of CERL’s journalism and national security conference in November. Marc holds a B.A. from Harvard. His office is in T-327.
