Here’s to a fresh start… 2019-2020
NIRI NY season in full swing!
NIRI NY – welcome back to the city! Summer has unofficially set, but the snap of fall’s crisp air should brighten your spirits and help motivate as we move into a fresh fall season.
If you were on the beach this summer, August was a roller coaster. Equity markets spiked, tanked and rebounded. The yield curve twisted and kinked. Trade taunts continued - all while the economy chugged along.
We took a brief hiatus from our professional programs but kept our membership engaged with a Summer Sunset at the Vessel networking reception/event hosted by IRO Andrea Shaw Resnik of Tapestry, home of Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman brands. Check out some photos below!
On the sustainability front, the Business Roundtable reframed its Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation. Shareholder value is no longer the sole focus and corporate leaders should broaden their commitment to create value for all stakeholders, including employees, customers, community and society. Join us next week to advance the conversation on this mega-trend impacting investor relations:
Getting Ahead Of The Curve: Sustainability Disclosure & Engagement
Thought leaders from Travelers and Etsy will host a dynamic discussion on ESG
September 11th – 5:30pm at Nasdaq Marketsite
Our new Board has planned another active season of events which will be posted on www.niriny.org in the coming weeks. We welcome your participation and interest in new topics, senior IRO dinners and NextGen events.
Drop us a line anytime – we’d love to hear from you!
