EAEA partners with a project focused on up-skilling inmates
Prison inmates often have lower levels of basic skills compared to the general population. To adress the issue, the CIK Trebnje
coordinated SkillHUBS project, which aims at developing empowering and tailored-made learning opportunities for the up-skilling and re-skilling of inmates. Read more!

The Slovenian Institute for Adult Education summarizes
the key findings of PIAAC Survey
of incarcerated adults. The well-known survey focused on the skills, work experiences, education, and training of the surveyed inmates compared to household population in the USA. Read here

After being successfully kicked in Ljubljana last January, the project is now in full swing. Partners are currently working on the first project outputs, which will be published in late June 2018. They include a collection of good practices
that are being used in each of the partner countries for skills assessment, accreditation of prior learning and validation
of inmates as well as guidelines on the trainers’ and inmates’ needs for an effective and inclusive prison education. At the same time, partners are developing promotional tools for the project among them a website
and a leaflet.
