Dstl exceeds spend target with Small and Medium Enterprises

In 2019/20, 27% of Dstl's external spend on science and technology (S&T) went to SMEs and its supply chain grew by 17%.
Dstl collaborates with leading commercial publishers to create wargames which stretch and test military leaders.
SME opportunities in £350 million ASTRID contract
The £350 million ASTRID contract awarded by Dstl to BAE Systems CORDA will provide analysis on critical strategy, policy and investment challenges.

Opportunities from DASA
The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) focuses on innovations that can provide advantage to defence and national security to protect the UK from its adversaries. It will fund the development of suppliers’ innovative ideas and provide support through to potential application.
£3 million Intelligent Ship competition
 This competition is seeking proposals for technologies and approaches towards military decision-making, mission planning and automation to exploit a human-machine network working together on military platforms.
Behavioural Analytics competition
This £2 million competition is seeking proposals that can provide context-specific insights into individual, group and population behaviour. Proposals must be submitted by midday (BST) 13 August 2020.
New innovation focus areas for Defence priorities
The Ministry of Defence is putting 
£1 million funding forward for industry and academia to help it face future threats. Suppliers can bid for funding via DASA’s Open Call for Innovation.
