ICC Newsletter Week 10, 2020 - EXTRA

Thursday, March 12, 2020

My fellow brothers and sisters in ICC,

I am addressing you concerning the Corona Virus situation in Denmark that has 514 infected cases to date
which has prompted the government to take drastic measures to contain and hopefully slow down the infections.

These measures include shutting down most public services for the next 14 days and discouraging larger group gatherings. The main intention of these drastic measures is to help protect the most vulnerable in society and hopefully begin a downward spiral of infections.

As a result, ICC will freeze all activities for the next 14 days and conduct live online services on Sundays which will be broadcasted on FB and made available via our WhatsApp groups, e-mail and SMS link where appropriate. This means we will not be having Midweek services and discourage home groups from operating for the next 14 days.

On a more practical basis, please follow some basic hygiene rules for you and your immediate environment such as:

1. Avoid close contact with sick people.
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
3. Cover coughs and sneezes.
4. Stay home when mildly sick and call your doctor if severe.
5. Disinfect often touched objects and surfaces.
6. Wash your hands regularly.

Most importantly, stay calm and vigilant. Do not panic shop as there is no shortage of food in Denmark. On
a spiritual note, spend more time reading your bible and praying.

Meantime let us all pray for God to protect Denmark and the rest of the world during this vulnerable period. Let us pray a vaccine for this virus will be available sooner than later – not only for Denmark but for the whole world.
This is not a time to start blaming nations or nationalities for the virus outbreak. Instead, our thoughts, prayers and hearts should go out to those infected and affected by the virus – even on count of death.

Lastly, let me leave you with a Bible verse that is appropriate for all believers in a time like this. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

God bless you. God bless ICC. God bless Denmark.
