The Department of Psychiatry Holiday Reception is this Monday, December 4,
6-9 pm at the InterContinental Yorkville.

Submissions for Performing Psychiatry are due December 1!

The submission deadline for Donald Wasylenki Education Day has been extended to December 8.

​Dr. Catherine Zahn, President and CEO of CAMH, has been named one of Canada’s Most Admired™ CEOs of 2017 by Waterstone Human Capital.

Dr. Ben Goldstein, Director of the Centre for Youth Bipolar Disorder at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, has been named one of CAMH’s 150 Leading Canadians For Mental Health.

Dr. Tarek Rajji has assumed the role of Deputy Physician-in-Chief of Research at CAMH.

The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture has honoured Drs. Lisa Andermann and Clare Pain with the Amina Malko award for their contributions to the community and commitment to helping victims of torture.

Attention APA Members: Dr. Bruce Schwartz, candidate for the APA Presidency, reaches out to Canadian pyschiatrists.

Is AVATAR Therapy a Breakthrough for Those Who Hear Voices? The New Lancet Psychiatry Paper

“The voices won’t leave me alone.”

A patient made this comment to me recently. And it’s an experience many patients have had. Despite medications and follow up, the voices continue to be problematic.

This week, we look at a new paper from The Lancet Psychiatry which considers a novel approach: AVATAR therapy.
