Support students with a package and a note

As the holidays approach, so do end-of-semester exams. As you might remember, this can be a very stressful time for students — let’s show them some support. Alumni are invited to get together to create cards and small care packages to be distributed to students during exam week. All materials provided.

When: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4
Where: Tuckahoe Library, 1901 Starling Drive, Henrico, VA 23229

More details to come in the next edition of the School of Nursing newsletter. If you’d like to participate, contact Amber Yancey (B.S.’07/H&S), alumni relations and stewardship specialist, at abyancey@vcu.edu or (804) 828-2993.

Former and retired faculty luncheon

The School of Nursing recently celebrated past faculty members at a
luncheon at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. View photos from the event. Our records, however, are not complete. If you are a former or retired faculty member and did not receive an invitation, contact Amber Yancey (B.S.’07/H&S), alumni relations and stewardship specialist, at abyancey@vcu.edu or (804) 828-2993.
Vesting ceremony

Vesting ceremony

In September, the School of Nursing held a vesting ceremony for the Accelerated B.S. Class of 2020 to mark the start of their journey in the nursing profession. The vesting ceremony has replaced the school’s white coat ceremony to align with the “bare below the elbows” movement in health care. More than 97 students, along with families and friends, attended the ceremony in the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building auditorium. View photos from the event.

ALUMNI HIGHLIGHT
