SON screens ‘The Black Angels’

In celebration of Black History Month, the School of Nursing hosted a screening in February of the documentary “The Black Angels: A Nurse’s Story,” presented by Denetra Hampton, a producer, writer and RN. The film tells the story of 300 black nurses who risked their lives working with tuberculosis patients in the 1940s, when no cure existed and white nurses refused to treat the patients. Several alumnae of the St. Philip School of Nursing joined us for the screening.
