Coming up!

Sarah Morris
Friday, Mar 24  7:30
Bo Diddley's

Sarah Morris's songwriting and performing chops have been honed in hundreds of live gigs and festival and  competition appearances (including a 2018 win at the Kerrville New Folk Competition), sometimes backed by The Sometime Boys, sometimes with Vicky Emerson in The Home Fires duo, but most often the way we will see her tonight, solo and all to ourselves. Come see why she gets compared to Laura Nyro, Nora Jones, and Edie Brickell--and how she remains herself.

"Rootsy singer Sarah Morris offers a Norah Jones-like approach to Americana, smoothing over its rough edges with a butter-velvety voice and an intimate songwriting style." --Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune

"The Minnesotan singer-songwriter captures relationship dynamics in candid, tenderhearted lyrics set to often delicate country twang." --City Pages

Gunning and Cormier
Friday, Mar 31  7:00
First Presbyterian Church

Separately, old friends Dave Gunning and J. P. Cormier are multiple-award-winning veteran Canadian musicians; together they are a powerhouse songwriting/guitar-playing/performing duo. Their repertory runs from their own compositions (individually and together) to traditional tunes to modern material.

"Two songwriters, interpreters, guitar players, and singers at their peak. It's the power of the song, the highest quality from the past to the now. It's two friends, brothers, and uncompromising performers." --Rogue Folk, Vancouver BC

Ruckus in the Bearbrush
Friday, April 14  7:30
Bo Diddley's

Ruckus in the Bearbrush is the trio of Adrian Rainer (guitar, banjo), Emma Nistler (Autoharp, whistles), and Paul Imholte (fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar), and the ruckus in question is the sound of the music that has come out of the Appalanchians, along with its assorted cousins: ballads, laments, dance tunes, Celtic melodies, even sea shanties. It's a deep dive into the musics that became "Americana," before there was Spotify or Sirius XM.

Donations are tax deductible and offer donor recognition & thanks. This is not a profitable enterprise. Our ticket sales typically do not quite cover musician compensation, much less printing, advertising, theater rental, insurance, etc., etc. We have in recent years been fortunate to receive grants to help defray expenses, we have received in-kind donations from our season sponsors, and we have also enjoyed increasing support from patrons such as yourselves. Collectively, these are the pieces of the financial puzzle that keep our boat afloat. Please consider a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated and is tax deductible.
