There is much change happening in my life and I am very excited to share it with you. First, I have been offered a position as core faculty at the Southwest University of Visual Arts (SUVA).  I began this semester teaching Drawing II, and I loved every minute of the experience.  This opportunity will allow me to focus solely on the teaching and creation of art! I will no longer be splitting my time between painting, TUSD and Pima Community College.  Combined with the reality that my boys will enter kindergarten in the fall, it is a recipe for ART!
Community Art Exploration:  SUVA has asked me to create a painting class that is open to the community.    This course is individualized to allow for student development at any level (beginner through advanced), in watercolor, acrylic or oil paint mediums.  Because this is a distinctly different type of class for SUVA, there is structural work still in progress.  However, I want to provide basic course information to those of you who have been waiting for it.  You cannot register now, but I will send a follow-up letter when everything is in place to begin registration.

P.M. Johnson Gallery (formerly Illusions), has moved to a fantastic new location.   "Nestled in the beautiful Catalina Foothills at Campbell Avenue and Skyline/Sunrise, just east of La Encantada and behind Diana Madaras Gallery. P.M. Johnson Gallery carries some of the best award winning artists in the Southwest, including Shaman sculptures by Pattie and Mark Johnson. Enjoy our beautiful courtyard and visit our neighbors at Sanders Gallery, Settlers West and Gallery West. Stop in and say hello!"

 "Westward Moon"
2nd place Oil & Acrylic
"That beautiful moon looming over the last glow of the evening sun on the trees and soft light on the grasses is stunning. I felt a sense of serenity standing in front of it, dreaming of evenings chasing fireflies. Lisa has a gifted ability to capture the subtleties of nature and atmosphere making it easy for the viewer to enter her paintings with their own memories."
~ Juror Molly Johnson
Both of these paintings are on display in the Richeson Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin.  You can view the virtual exhibition here.
Thanks, my friend, for letting me share this news with you.  It is such a gift to live in a world filled with art!
