Trisha Van Cleef exhibits during the month of February. In 2004, Paul Whitehead began making art as Trisha van Cleef. Trisha emerged from Paul’s interest in cross dressing, all things feminine and gender bending, and it was only a matter of time before Paul wondered what kind of art Trisha would make.

Her artistic style and approach to making art is completely different to Paul’s. Almost as reaction to Paul’s labor and time intensive draftsmanship and realistic painting, the use of perspective and visual illusions in his well constructed paintings, Trisha’s approach is spontaneous and emotional, more “in the moment”. She works very fast, without any intellectual purpose except to express the joy of creating, often taking only 20 minutes to complete a piece.

They have had several “One man – One woman” art shows together in both the U.S. and Europe. They both make their own type of Sand Paintings and have live painting performances as bands play on stage. Reception is Saturday, Feb. 26, 7 - 9 p.m. Please check the Art Branch page on our website to find a complete listing of activities Paul/Trisha will have during the month.

Art in the Park Applications are now being accepted through March 20th. If you are a fine artist and would like to join us Memorial Weekend as an exhibitor, apply online or download the application
