Divers are the natural ambassadors for the ocean. We swim in it, we dive below its waves, and we marvel at the beauty it holds. We also see the changes it goes through as rising sea temperatures, over fishing, and marine debris affect our waters. This year, let's concentrate on speaking up for our oceans and protecting this blue planet we live on!
Happy Diving!
Go Dive Now!
@ Earth Day, TX

Every year, thousands of people gather at Fair Park in downtown Dallas to celebrate Earth Day. This three day event features everything environmental with a ton of education and fun activities thrown in.

But no Earth Day celebration would be complete without scuba diving! Our planet is 70% water so the only way to be a true environmental advocate is to explore all of it - including the oceans. After all, without the blue there can be no green.

With this in mind, International Scuba and other local dive stores will be offering free try scuba experiences in the Go Dive Now travel pool. Bring a non-diving friend and help them understand the beauty and importance of our world's waters through direct experience! Only a bathing suit is needed; all other gear will be provided and the entire event is completely FREE.
Welcome Blacktip Swim School to International Scuba!
Blacktip Swim School was founded in 2013 with the goal to promote and strengthen swimming not only as an activity, but also as a competitive sport and important life skill. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity participate in and enjoy both, without the constraints of fear, age, or a personal budget. Through our comprehensive swimming programs including: parent-tot, beginners, advanced, swim team, and water fitness, both youth and adults have access to quality learning opportunities at the hands of our exceptional and experienced staff.

Diving Freedom!
Our Tec Diver extraordinaire, Rich tells us why a trip to Bonaire is like no other:

When it comes to dive trips, there are a few things Bonaire offers above all other destinations.
1. Amazing healthy reefs with tons of photo friendly fish.
2. No schedules for me! I like to dive on my own timeline and relax when I feel like kicking back.
3. Great value! I want to make sure I get my diving monies worth. Unlimited diving anybody?!
4. Good variety of dives; over 85 sites, 5 wreck sites, pier dives, wall dives, shore dives, rubble dives…
 5. Fun local cultural experiences and local dining.
 6. Amazing ice cream!

We have planned the perfect Bonaire trip this October and it will incorporate many unique aspects unavailable on other trips. It will be occurring during the coral spawn so we will have a chance to observe some interesting activities on the reef; we are there after the full moon so we can see the Ostercods night dive (it’s an underwater light show that nature puts on); the Bonaire Regatta is taking place that week so lots of fun above water activities; and the Full Moon party on Sunday is the most fun beach party anywhere.

We have taken over an amazing 6 bed/6 bath beach house with a beautiful seaside patio that we can dive off on our very own house reef 24 hours a day.  Bonaire is all about choices and you can choose to explore the amazing local restaurants or enjoy a home cooked meal in our 2 full sized kitchens or grill on the patio.

In the past you may have heard that this trip was best for Tec divers…Not true! Single tank diving is the norm here and we have tanks sized to match every diver and air consumption (can anyone say unlimited nitrox?!).

The thing I love most about Bonaire is making my dives as long as my air and computer allow. We have found ourselves referring to a 90 minute dive as a quick one. Side-mount is a great way to make this happen! We have 3 side-mount systems that are available first come first served if you would like to enjoy the benefits of side-mount diving on Bonaire. We can do the class beforehand to have you ready to rock. Diving side-mount means you could easily dive for over 2 hours (our longest dive last year was 3 hours and 45 minutes). But you have the freedom to dive as long or short as you desire each day.

If you want to get some training done while diving in ideal conditions we will have 2 instructors, Joe and Rich, there to make just about anything imaginable happen.  One of the coolest wrecks to gain experience in penetration is the Hilma Hooker and guided dives through her haunted passages are a favorite dive for many people.

It promises to be another dive filled adventure with the most activities ever so sign up quick while we have spots! 972-416-8400
