ACTS at work by Dave Law
Many of us will have come across the ACTS concept for prayer,
Have you thought about using that when you pray about your work? Here are a few thoughts to get you started
Adoration- We worship the God who made everything, he is above all things and sees all and yet loves us all. At all times it is worth remembering when we pray, that whatever is going on in your work, God is more and we can rest in that peace.
Confession – Have we truly worked at our job as if working for God? Have we loved our colleagues as ourselves? Have we done the job with total integrity and without compromise?
Thanksgiving – What can you give thanks for? However tough it is, be thankful that you have a job, be thankful that you can be God’s witness in your workplace. Be thankful for the little things, the friend who made you a coffee or the manager who had time to talk as much as the contract won or the bonus received. Be thankful as well for how your company benefits the who community
Supplication (asking) – Pray beyond your immediate needs for your job, hold up what you know about the wider company, are there pay talks or big contracts being discussed? Don’t forget to ask God to bless your Colleagues, your managers, the directors and shareholders
Whether you use this or not, just keep praying for your workplace
