--The power of music can change lives.  Let’s use it to help those in need by giving hope, health, and happiness through the healing art of music.--

Hey friends - it's time to get moving again!  The Music Moves Mountains Foundation is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Band Aid School of Music in Austin to raise funds for music scholarships for disadvantaged kids, special needs training for instructors, music therapy workshops and music equipment.  And since we are all big believers in the power of music, we are hosting a benefit concert with the help of Band Aid's students!  If you are in the Austin metro area on February 19th, come check out showcases by student rock bands from the school's Rock Band program with special guests, local legends Kevin McKinney and Dan Dyer.  This is an all-ages Sunday afternoon jam (2-5pm), so bring the family!  Food will be provided by Austin Land & Cattle (ALC Steaks), the One-2-One will be serving up drinks, and there will be a silent auction with fun goodies.  There is a $20 suggested donation, but feel free to give what you can and come join us!  Any support is a direct investment into the community and the future of our young rockers!

If you are unable to attend, you can still help our efforts by donating at , donating an item to auction, an in-kind service, music equipment, or volunteering!

When we started the Foundation in 2012, my son became our poster boy in order to connect a face to the cause - to show an example of the power of music and why we needed your support to help others.  It started with our campaign video when he was five with the song "Join Together" by his favorite band The Who, who allowed us to use their song to reach out to the world.  In 2016, he had an amazing opportunity to play with The Who's drummer Zak Starkey which gave him the confidence to then play with his first band at Band Aid's Rock Band summer camp.  Now ten, my son will join us to contribute a song at the MMMF/BASOM benefit concert, giving a nod to The Who, hoping to inspire others.  We hope you can be there to help cheer him on!
Thank you to Taylor Ellison at We Are Austin and the whole morning crew at CBS/KEYE for giving us a platform to speak about our upcoming benefit and the need for music therapy and education!  Made some new friends in TV land!
