Summer Roundup

In-between shielding ourselves from the scorching city sun and ducking around charged up football fans, we’ve been powering on with a host of flourishing projects for the summer. Our first Danish festival of the season brought record breaking temperatures to Scandinavia; We Are Scientists donated an hour of topical comedy to Best Fit’s ‘Talk The Line’ podcast and announced another UK tour; our new R&B artist has been popping up in all the best Spotify playlists and Benin-born Afro-soul songwriter Shirazee has been cooking up a storm on Apple Music with his new EP, featuring SAINt JHN. Hold tight though, it's nearly the end of the working week. And at the end of this particular week, you'll find The Weekend at the Edge of the Lake festival. Dip yer wee boiling toes into the fresh alpine waters, and chill...

NorthSide Festival [Events PR]

Festival season is finally upon us, and NorthSide kicked off the summer in style. The expanding festival, set in Denmark’s second city and European Capital of Culture, entertained over 40,000 music fans this year and prides itself on achieving a 100% organic status. With huge names gracing the line-up this year, including Bjork, Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, The War on Drugs and Tyler the Creator, it's no wonder the event grabbed the attention of The Telegraph, CoS, NME, Billboard, DIY, Crack, The FADER, Variety, Rolling Stone and London In Stereo.
Shirazee [Coming up...]

We’re excited to launch a new project with Shirazee – an afrosoul songwriter from Benin. Intertwining the vibrations of Africa with American hip-hop influences, his debut EP ‘Home and Away’ already has strong support from Apple Music, with previous releases gathering millions of streams on Spotify.
Distribution Roundup

Krista Papista, the sordid-pop artist who's been finding fans at i-D, Crack, Wonderland and Brooklyn Vegan, joins our roster this month. Youth Control's Rony Rex continues to turn up the heat with his 'Lift Yo Legs' remix package, Black Wave's debut signee Shanazz Dorsett has been included in Spotify's newest playlist R&B UK with her latest single 'Cake' and UK songwriter Lorne provides the perfect chill-out track with the acoustic version of his single 'Oil and Water' - the original now has almost a million streams.
We Are Scientists [Online]

Following the release of their hugely successful sixth studio album 'Megaplex', We Are Scientists have continued to dish out their razor-sharp humour - this time for The Line of Best Fit's 'Talk the Line' podcast with Jen Long. The topic: Jack Reacher, the fictional character created by British author Lee Child. On top of discussing this particular literary delight, the duo performed a stripped back session for Billboard and announced an additional 11 dates to their tour throughout October. Find out where you can catch the pair performing here
Allana Verde [Radio & Online]

North-London R&B artist Allana Verde released her third EP last month, and has already garnered extensive support from Clash, Complex and Topshop, as well as an exclusive first-play from DJ Target on BBC 1Xtra. Her sensual late-night narratives featured some of the biggest names on the UK grime scene, including London MC Mercston, Mikill Pane, Joe Grind and DaVinche, with tracks landing in Spotify's New Music Friday, Free Form, R&B UK and This Is How We Do playlists.
It's The World Cup

Harry Kane's been bringing it home for England quite a bit so far in this tournament, and it's all down to some gentle encouragement from this unlikely musical duo: The Kaiser Chief's Ricky Wilson and the retired cricketer Freddy Flintoff. Their re-working of Boney M's karaoke classic 'Rasputin' is clearly one of the best football anthems of all time, and needless to say the news spread like a rash across ESPN, The Sun, The Star, Express, Unilad, Noisey, Metro, NME, Clash, Shortlist,  BBC Radio 2 and Good Morning Britain this month. Say what you will about Rasputin ReBOOTED, because football is coming home regardless.
Weekend at the Edge of the Lake [Events PR]

The intimate festival, set on the shores of Geronde Lake, is set to dazzle attendees with its charming line-up - headlined by Romare and jam packed with art and cultural events. The family-friendly event is nestled in the heart of Switzerland's French region, and this year is offering revelers the chance to experience the futuristic fantasy universe of Westworld, just in time for the season finale of the Emmy award-winning drama.
