Swimmer's Itch to be Topic at Annual Meeting
Dr. Curtis Blankespoor, Professor of Biology at Calvin College, will be speaking at our 2016 DLIA Annual Meeting. Dr. Blankespoor's research interests are in the areas of Parasitology, Entomology, and Animal Behavior. Currently he is working on a project that examines the geographical distribution of the parasite that causes cercarial dermatitis (more commonly known as "Swimmer's Itch"). Douglas Lake is the control lake of his research. He wants to remind lake residents and DLIA members that a Michigan Waterfowl hunting license is required to hunt migratory game bird and that there are specific dates for such activity.
