Michigan Swimmer's Itch Partnership
For the 2nd year in a row, representatives from DLIA attended the Michigan Swimmer's Itch Partnership. Collaborations are increasing the chances of positive outcomes from various ongoing research projects. John Kafer created an informative report for the membership. Click here to read.

An Evening with the Loons
Come to the U of M Biological Station Sunday, August 7 at 7:30pm
to see the "The Uncommon Loon"
a 56-minute film that follows a loon family through the nesting season.
Afterward, the filmmaker Jeff Lang, will take questions.

Jeff has been an Area Coordinator with Michigan Loonwatch since 1986, identifying and registering loon-breeding lakes throughout Northern Michigan. He works with volunteers who monitor and report on the success of nesting loons, along with addressing nesting problems and threats facing loons in Michigan.

(less than 8-10 mph wind, yet enough to sail)
In case of inclement weather, meet Thursday, July 7.
